Our Evolution timber-effect windows have been put to good use in this wonderfully restored cottage found in Windlesham, Surrey.

The owner of the property had already obtained planning permission to build an extension on the side of the property and used their architect plans to request a quote. As is the case with all of the work our installer, Thames Valley Windows, undertakes, their team of designers worked alongside the client to discuss the advantages of changing the dimensions, style and proportions of the property's windows to improve the overall look and feel of the house as a whole.

From the start of the conversations our installer’s client was drawn to our timber-effect window as it required zero maintenance and provided all the natural wood charm of using real timber. Added to this our timber effect windows are very energy-efficient and incredibly secure so was a perfect choice for their family home.

As the Evolution wood-effect windows have much deeper dimensions than the property's old windows, and the replacements originally drawn by the client's architect, they give the house a more substantial finish yet the wood grain effect and Georgian bars add a touch of elegance to the design.

To achieve the traditional look the clients were after our installers recommended the Georgian-style glazing bars and hardwood cills that are finished in our factory to complete the look.

Now living in their completely extended and renovated home, the clients are in love with their beautiful windows and all the design ideas our installers gave them. They are more than happy with the decision to opt for timber-alternative windows rather than timber and are pleased that they can enjoy their beauty without the hassle of lots of maintenance.
